@Stephen77 Yea I guess you're right, actually, about Community being just as good as those other shows, but I still believe that they're so essentially different that they shouldn't be compared. Louie and Girls really do kind of seem to be a different genre, I think.

Even Community, which goes further than the typical network comedy model and does great work…

I feel like classifying Louie and Girls (it wasn't on your list but I tend to kind of lump it with Louie, genre-wise) as comedies is unfair to other comedies, especially ones on networks.
