Having a music-related character did give the show a way to introduce music and songs, which made possible the cool sequence where all the sensates are singing. [Then again, Wolfgang could have been given this stuff (remember the scene where his father mocked his stage fright), and it would have been a nice contrast

Ginger Snaps (a werewolf movie) did a great job at making that (metaphoric) connection between menstruation and lycanthropy.

Other reviews have been saying the same thing, that Vanessa never got a good look at her during the flashback episode. The barrier was invisible, but I guess windows back then were pretty cloudy.

I was a little confused: Evelyn and Vanessa were baring their teeth at each other, being somewhat coy but also dropping the act as well. But… It was clear to me that Vanessa was saying "I'm on to you," but in the general sense of "I know you're bad news," not in the specific sense of, you know, I remember your face
