Honestly, I thought of this too. “No one will like you if you tell” is the most horrible thing you could ever tell a child victim who tried to protect herself by telling a trusted adult (clearly one outside of her family, because look what kind of psycho assholes she’s related to).

I’m so sorry that happened to you. It is just totally beyond me to understand how a mother could know her child was going through something that horrific, and not intervene. (Not saying that in the tone of “*I’M* A MOTHER, AND HERE’S WHAT *I* WOULD’VE DONE!!!”, because I’m not, and probably won’t ever be.)
