I have a question not related to Musk. The writer’s strike shortened the season of Last Week Tonight, as mentioned in the finale. So I’m left wondering why they didn’t just...keep going until they hit the normal number of episodes per season?
Well, this article is misleading.
I used to think Michael Bay was the worst director, but at least he had the self awareness to know he was making high concept schlock. He always knew he was a hack, and was okay with that.
Genuinely thought it was Bridges until I read the headline.
Is he now cosplaying as Jeff Bridges in that header pic?
that franchise and Nolan’s Batman movies allowed him to “do the least amount of work for the most of money” and then still have time to be with his kids.
No, it’s clear to me now that Snyder needs a second pass at every project, just to creatively break even.
My theory is that it was planned that way from the start as a gimmick for Netflix to increase view counts. They’re betting on Synder’s fans hashtagging releasethesnydercutagain or some shit like that.
“ in Snyder’s words, “like, an hour longer and has a whole other opening that’s all Ed. It’s really crazy.”
So, why didn’t he do it in the first place? He was literally the director and...god knows why...got the do “whatever you want”-card for these movies.
Does he need his cultlike followers to pray for a “Snydercut”…
Not exactly a hot take, but you have to be a sick comedic genius to come up with things like this.
Are you suggesting a Leon spin-off series? Because I would watch the shit out of that.
crazy to think this has been on since i was a teenager and i’ll turn 40 during this last season.
Pretty ... prettyyy ... prettyyy ... pretty good ...
Yep. And despite plenty of people pointing out that it seems like there was no overall plan for the trilogy, I’ve yet to hear about Kennedy or anyone else involved suggesting otherwise. It really does seem like their plan was to just let Abrams/Johnson/Trevorrow each make their own movie and the three entries were…
It’s just wild to me that there wasn’t a firm plan in place for this trilogy before setting out. Like the whole Marvel Endgame arc was clearly pretty well planned out and through some highs and lows they ended up with a fairly cohesive and very entertaining long term story but for some reason there wasn’t enough…
No, it isn’t. If you want to sit here and have an academic breakdown of the history of horror and how cultural concerns influence subject matter and stylistic choices you’re absolutely welcome. It’s territory I’ve gone over many times before in pursuit of a terminal degree. Which I now have. So I’m no stranger to your…
Ah, from the same school as “All skyscrapers are just penises”.
This reminds me of a commenter on this site telling me years ago that all blood in horror movies represents semen, and then giving me haughty defense when I said that was stupid. I get that there’s usually a sexual aspect to horror and most are made by men, but really, all of them? This universal life force is…
