“pro-gaslighting”

God, this guy was exceptional at any tone, so I loved every role he’s ever played. He absolutely elevated weak material and soared in some of my favorite projects. (And his absolutely unhinged role in RRR is a revelation of pure camp -- dude understood the assignment.)

What an odd fucking comment.

Why would anyone want to ask Tom Cruise about Scientology? It’s not like he’s going to tell you anything you don’t know, and there’s always the chance that he’ll start talking and won’t stop. It’s like walking up to a used car salesman and telling them that you have $15,000 saved up and don’t know what to spend it on.

Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn’t good for me.

My bet is that it’s the latter portion of that text, where Tucker suggests that the Antifa person might actually a human being, that Fox News knew would offend its viewer base the most.

Or, at the very least, the only way Tucker Carlson would ever have been involved in a fight.

A few of these stories have come out now, claiming Carlson was fired for behavior and texts that go against progressive and liberal — not conservative — values. There was one that claimed it was because his “prayer talk” freaked out Murdoch and another that claimed it was because of his contributions to a culture of

“If I reduce people to politics, how am I better than he is? From now on, I’m just gonna stick to reducing people to their race.”

If I don’t care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?

How White Men Fight:

I’d argue that a group of guys beating up in full force on one smaller and likely weaker person all alone is EXACTLY how white men fight.

Why is it that every dickish personality out there right now seems to try and brush it aside with “i’m a libertarian”?

Alternate Headline:

I do that too, though I like to do it with movies that I consider shit aside from the visuals - Tenet is great for this, as is Sunshine (the one from 2007).

I watched Midsommar stoned with a friend--she made me turn it off at THAT scene.

Ghibli is on the list, may want to recheck.

I’m surprised Pineapple Express isn’t listed here, nor are the Jump Street movies.

Both of these lists could be 100 films long.

Yeah I gotta think The Wall in anything more than a very lightly altered state would simultaneously make you completely freaked and utterly despondent.  It’s not a nice story.
