I am going through this process right now and am on my 5th treatment. Glad to answer any questions. Yes it hurts (more than when you get the tattoo). Sometimes it blisters and sometimes it doesn't. No it is not fun. You can smell the ink/skin burn sometimes.

I am getting mine removed right now by this process. It sucks. It is like a thumb-tack on a rubber band snapping you. And you can smell the burn - both ink and skin. And then sometimes everything is fine and othertimes it blisters like crazy. But at least the nurse who conducts it is *REALLY* cute!
