Real world depends on the person. EPA 5 cycle is a standardized test, it includes both city and highway driving. If you plan to drive only on highway at 75mph+, then obviously it’ll get less. Other factors can also play a role like how aggressively you drive, grade, wind and etc.

I talk to myself all day in real life, why not on the internet?

He’s a little different to say the least, after listening to him on the Rogan podcast I got the feeling that he might be on the spectrum a little bit. I would argue that simultaneously running Tesla, SpaceX , The Boring Company, Neuralink and numerous other side projects would take a significant amount of intelligence.

This points out the HUGE problem we have with society here in this country right now. For years and years if there were signs that said stay out we stayed out except for a few asshats that would not abide. But now with YouTube and Instagram and a young generation of people that have never been told no this problem has

But it isn’t, and I’m not.

Don’t the Tesla Model S and Model X use AC induction motors?

Teslas use an AC motor connected to the batteries through an inverter.

We give the startups oxygen because the incumbents don’t seem to give a f*ck about anything meaningful in pursuit of progress.

My electric airplane start-up will be named his pigeon wife.

Yeahi don’t get this. I’m probably missing something. The electrolysis adds electrons to split the h2 out, and the fuel cell will take the h2 and combine it with o2 to get electrons out.

I don’t claim to be an aerodynamics expert...

Weird how like... 49 other OEC nations have done it, have lower infant mortality rates, better outcomes, and early screenings that lower the rates at which advanced illnesses are untreatable.

“Environmentally friendly” is a relative term. I’ll agree that halved emissions are still emissions, but you should agree that presenting a false dichotomy is an unproductive activity that never solved any problem and only serves to rationalize avoiding an issue.

The good news is that we don’t have to burn stuff to generate electricity.

Warning: politics, off topic

I mean, you could search and find out pretty good studies that take this into account for a total life cycle analysis. In the end, it ends up being a case of if you value total green house emissions vs land fill & recyclability vs total energy consumption. Electric cars come out ahead for emissions (even if your power

I owned a Macan S as my daily driver. My plan was to replace it with a Taycan until I found out what they wanted to charge for it (and before I realized that the range sucked). I instead bought a Tesla Model 3 Performance as my daily driver and am in the market for a 911 as a weekend car.

Car and Driver doesn’t seem to be running the performance model and it shows. Top Gear has a long history of shitting on Tesla, so they don’t get much credit from me for being accurate. What I am talking about is the latest cars run heads up with no bias.

Going 12 miles in 27 minutes sounds amazing!

I, too, used to work for Tesla :)
