Dude, how is it that 90 year old veterans in failing health are somehow able to summon the strength to make it to the polls every two years, while perfectly able-bodied millennials who have, in most states, weeks (or even months!) before Election Day to vote by mail or as an absentee, just don’t do it? Do you really

Where I grew up (Upper Midwest), I’d offer the following grades:

Thank god someone is here to lawyer us into oblivion.

...knibb high football rules?

This needs more stars

Who is Brett Farve

I know people are going to star this comment because it’s snappy but the Mets are in 14th place out of 30 teams in HRs, so it’s not like they’re especially good at hitting home runs...

You fail by publicly responding to this horse shit tho.

Yeah, this is not a story. This is Deadspin with no sports to cover on a Wednesday night in July during the All-Star Break trying to turn a rich guy who’s bad about paying taxes on time into a story.

Extremely wealthy guy is lazy about filing on time, asks for extensions, acts like his laziness about filing on time is a feature instead of a bug...how is this any different from the thousands of other wealthy dickheads (including our President!) who routinely quibble with the IRS over millions and ask for endless

Do you realize that Helwani’s own tweets completely contradict your headline?

In your universe, the lack of a cap/max would enable places like Utah, Sacramento, Milwaukee etc. to pay players enough to stick around, whatever that might cost. This sounds fine in the abstract but ignores the fact that other more intrinsically desirable locations (LA, Boston, Miami etc) could ALSO pay players more.

“The first thing to notice, here, is that this is already pretty crowded spacing.”

I don’t get it...you copied and pasted the actual headline?

Aside from the optics (branding, hometown kid playing for hometown team, etc), was this even a smart move by LA? I know Lonzo Ball was a very good player in college, but is he what the Lakers need/want to build around?

There’s a pretty obvious counterargument to what you’re saying. There’s only 1 first pick but there are 59(!) other picks. Since first picks are (roughly) equal to 1.5% of all picks, that means:

This actually made me LOL which is rare as I am a rational, moderately self-aware adult in America in 2017.

Maybe Deadspin isn’t the best forum for you to whine about athletes fighting and not being able to follow the puck on a TV screen.

He still thinks this is Gawker, where anybody would give a shit about what he just posted.

Truly a miracle worker, wringing hall of fame careers out of the otherwise-mediocre Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman.
