While I agree it should have been clearer in the movie, it didn’t take me long to put it together - this just confirms it. To be honest I think they could of made better use of 3PO and R2D2 to make this clearer.

Question; Why did they build the cap so far away and then slide it into place? Why didn’t they just start building it right next to the reactor and entomb it that way?
