i didnt get as much an impression of America at fault for the situation and its handling, we got name dropped sure but it wasn’t like in Shin Godzilla which could only have been more blunt had they come out and said it.

saw it over the weekend, honestly this is one of, if not the best Godzilla film ever. where the Monsterverse leans heavily into the SciFi silly stuff, this is deadly serious. its brutal, occasionally bordering on gory. its heartbreaking in several spots, chilling in even more, and fully earns the triumph at the end.

the Merkava can carry a handful of troops in emergency situations, it is not designed to offload squads like an IFv or APC is.

id agree with you, if the “new” versions of the characters retained any of their core traits. what we got was a basic resemblance to the old gang slapped on a new set of characters. and then made fucking unbearable to watch.

im not gonna knock your taste on the film, but yeah to me it was a slog in more than once place. especially when i couldn’t just get lost in the visuals.
