I am not sure it was drift. He got scared, yank the steering wheel to change lane as quickly as possible and lost the rear. At least this is how I see it on the video.

A lovely car. I spent a year saving up to buy one, but by the time I could afford it, it was 1988 and I had to get the 2nd gen CRX-Si, which of course was probably too great a car to be called “unimpressive” ;)

No, not the Batmobile-ish Dodge Charger from F&F8 that takes on the Russian sub (I know, you’re shocked), but that tracked thing Hobbs drove in the flick:

I want a TourX, but every year the odds get stacked harder and harder against that possibility.

That phrase is over 50 years old, man.

Saying something falls in the uncanny valley effectively says what you feel. Put more simply, sure; you could say “It looks *just* a little bit off, and makes me feel uncomfortable.” -But “The Uncanny Valley” puts the feeling in words, along with the reasons as to why.

True, but yeah it was worth it, that and his CarMax RangeRover kickstarted Big Daddy Dougs career. And hell OG Jalp set off a few careers Doug, Tavarish, Farrah, Alanis, Kristen among others I am sure I forgot.

I love Jason, he’s great, but he’s not a professional crash tester. And admittedly I am not either, so that’s why I included quotes from the people who are.

Do better Jalopnik.

I’m having flashbacks to your previous period of employment at this online publication when you would post practical motorcycle reviews and people would, for some reason that I’ve never understood, crap all over you.

I found a cool thing on the internet, thought it was fun, and shared it with you. If you don’t like it, you can read one of the other five pieces I’ll publish today. Thanks for your feedback.

Hey Lawrence- major props for honestly discussing a  difficult issue.  It would’ve been easier and understandable to just walk away from that experience without sharing it.  By doing so, it normalizes a very common difficulty (panic/claustrophobia).  I hope you can get back in a rally car in the future, but even if

Mazda6 Wagon. Though it looks like the only places where you can get the turbo engine is in RHD countries. So while technically they may not sell LHD wagons with the turbo, I am going with that. Alas, I don’t think there are any countries where you can get the turbo with a manual.

I found a copy of that that someone had squirreled away.

[furiously searches for crucifix]

Bentley needs to be more like Koenigsegg and build a car that’s so slow it only needs a one-speed transmission. Very irresponsible.

I believe this is also a wagon

That was my submission. Great minds.

Holy shit! I came to post this, but worried it was too obscure, but meanwhile it’s sitting up top.

Agreed, this list is bunk without it.
