If Vinfast produces 2 vehicles, it is already a VIN-VIN

Owner of a Gen 2 Volt here. Might as well put it in the category of GM screw-ups, only because of GM’s habit of discontinuing cars once they got it right. Sure it looks like a generic Honda (not a bad comparison). I unofficially named my white one Government Car. But 53 electric miles for commuting and then 40+ mpg on

BMW feels like it took a step back with their EVs. I know the i3 was weird looking, but their newer EV options are horrible looking AND way more expensive.

I’m surprised they chose my comment to be added to this post.

Yeah, like what? The Volt was amazing for what it was - it wasn’t going to be a performance car, it exceled at being a PHEV and had better electric-only range than almost any other PHEV on the market then or now. Hell, drive one and it drives like an EV. Not a performance EV, but like an EV, which is to say that the

I always thought the Volt was the perfect bridge between ICE and EV. 1st gen had almost 40 miles EV range, 2nd gen had over 50. Covers almost everyone’s commute. And then they have an ICE generator that eliminates range anxiety you get in other EVs. I’m surprised that it wasn’t better accepted.

Not fast cars, but 0-60

Yeah, I’m not sure what people were expecting from the Volt. Wasn’t the first gen put on the market in 2010? How many other PHEVs with a 35 mile range existed at the time?

I used to own a 1984 Escort Pony that was equipped with a 4-speed manual and a diesel engine.  Very basic car, but I could get 45+ mpg with it!

Welcome to the conversation, ya jabroni. We’ve only been complaining about charging infrastructure for a goddamned decade.

I loved my 88 Escort GL. Slow car fast with 5sp MT and all that.

My 87 Escort “SunSport” was not all that good.

Had a Mercury LN7 looked good but not the best

My ex wife’s 1984 escort wagon automatic was completely horrible.

...but I’ve seen police/highway patrol not bat an eye as a squatted truck drove by.

Yeah I live in NC, and I doubt the ban is gonna be enforced very often against the rednecks who drive these idiotic vehicles.

As someone who daily drove an 86 Accord, a 90 Accord, and an 1992 Camry, I’m just going to call BS.

How do you feel about war movies?

In my Model 3, the 12V port is deep inside the center console arm rest, so I took the whole console out and ran the wire underneath and then up the A-pillar weather stripping, so you can only actually see any wire right by the sun visor area, but it’s on my to-do list to tuck that inside the headliner

My parents were an unintentional comedy team.

Always good to know your limits. Killing the easy stuff yourself still saves you coin (and makes you feel good about it)
