That price is so low... Back in the days it was arount 80 € I think (RPG Maker 2003). And you couldn't even buy it, because it was all in japanese but some guys translated it.

I really liked that game. A bit tough for 10-yo me, but it left a strong impression, 20+ years later I still have fond memories of it. :-)

If Twine's a little too old fashioned for you, RPG Maker might do the trick. The free version's not as powerful as the paid alternatives, but you can do a lot with it regardless. It's not about art, I'm reading a lot of old mangas. It's about story/writing/pacing. Akira's manga has a strong start in all of these, but it wears thin fast. I really love how the story starts, but then it's slow. The manga is overrated because of the great anime everyone loves and because very few actually read it.
