I played roughly 2 hours and didn't like it much too. I think it was great for the time, but I don't think FPS age well. I played HL2 75% through campain, I liked the atmosphere and a few parts of the story, but not enough to keep me hooked. Glad to hear I'm not the only human being not fond of HL.

It's a good thing you're here to teach the world who's an asshole and who's not. Thank you very much for your time, it's 100% worth it. :-)

Great news. Naruto has been dragging for too long, it's been dying (story-wise) for way too long. It's about time! Glad to hear that about Bleach too. I understand they appeal to young people but I started reading them in my 20's and I'm 33 now.

Is it any good if, like me, you loved past FF games and totally skipped on FFXIII and FFXIII 2 (because... you know... they suck) ? Is it still an enjoyable game, or do you have to know the story of the 2 previous games?

As a wholesaler in the video game industry and a huge Microsoft fan (until yesterday at least), I give my vote to PS4. PS4 presentation was so strong it even sold me on the Vita!

Such battle systems are chores too. As I said in another reply, there are great battle systems for RPGs, Grandia and Baiten Kaitos are both very good. ATB is 20 years old. That's not a problem if it's boring to play, it was great at the time.

There are great turn based battles in RPGs. Just try Grandia battle system, it's 15 years old and it's very interesting to play. ATB is a bit flat, but that's not a problem since it's a 20 years old system.

So, they take the worst part of old school Final Fantasy (combat), and they make it a fan service orgy. Final Fantasy games are loved for their stories, characters, musics, artistic direction, and even for their design, but not for battles. Battles is the boring part of the game.
