I dunno, they have a pretty premium setup in the books, where Arya is pretty much told that she can leave at any time and the FM will get her into whatever other line of work suits her.

In the books, it is implied that Bran can… I don't know if it rises to the level of changing the past, but it seems like he can make himself heard. Three Eyed Raven claims this isn't possible, but I think we're just supposed to understand that Bran has more potential power as a Tree Guy than 3ER.

They haven't really given us any rules in the show about how the weirwood.net works, so it's hard to say. The Winterfell heart tree is pretty old though.
