Chuck Jones has a great story about Jack walking into the animation department in a sort of a surprise inspection. He was furious when he saw the writers staring off into space thinking up ideas instead of typing. He wanted to hear the click-clack of typewriters, dammit. After he left in a huff, they all conspired to

An enduring image of corporate lore that could be apocryphal but embodies an inner truth anyway finds Harry chasing Jack around the Burbank lot, swinging a lead pipe at Jack’s head.”

What’s even better is that this is 100% pulled from the republican playbook. It has happened multiple times over the years where a Democrat wins the governorship in a red state only for an emergency session of the state congress to pass a bill restricting their powers before they enter office.

I made it halfway through the first episode and I was struggling to pay attention. I paused it and watched something else. I realized a few days later that I really didn’t care enough to go back, even if it meant on missing out on a little pop culture.

okay I admit the only part that made me laugh was the big cast splash. Holy shit they got american ferreira AND ariana greenblatt??

It’s the better fit, and it should have been a TV show from the beginning.

They think “just smile and nod while she babbles endlessly about trans people, before long she’ll keel over from racism poisoning and then I get five hundred million bucks and a castle.”

[Tinkly Harry Potter theme plays approaching Hogwarts from the sky.]

Get ready to hear Myrtle really moan!

And also, Professor Batman is there!

And then there’s the much larger percentage (like me) who never even started because it just didn’t sound great and the noise from people watching it was not convincing.

It looked boring and I’m still burnt out on LOTR from the classic movies and whatever the Hobbit stuff was doing

Hey, I watched every episode that I pirated!

At least show some love to Slowpoke Rodriguez.

Doing the Traffic Altercation sketch live - and nailing it - was the best moment of the night. And holy shit Chloe Fineman’s hand gestures were fucking hilarious.

I laughed at “Traffic Altercation” the most.

I actually really liked the midwife sketch. I enjoyed the absurd premise, Bowen’s catty acting, the unexpected time jumps, and use of wigs. I laughed so hard at his ridiculously long hair in the final scene. I can understand the sketch being divisive but it’s great they’re doing some more out there stuff.

But no one told her it was going to be this way.

That’s exactly how landfills charge, my dude. Have you ever used the dump?!

That’s not $30m worth of Funko Pops; that’s $0 worth of Funko Pops. They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them, which is $0 if they’re going to a landfill.
