What? You know we are taking about the F35. It's haddes under it. The engine is Impressive but it's not cool by an object measure. Maybe if you provide cryogenic tanks. There and engineering effort going on to upgrade decks to handle the heat.

Sweet
They are counting on it because there is no alternative available or in the pipeline. Why do you think we waited till after the f22 line was shut down to all of a sudden. Suspend the f35 program and rebate line it. Because it was sunspot to be available in 2012 so not having additional f22 wouldn’t have hurt the fleet…
This is not just cost plus causing this it’s much deeper and at the root of it is judgement by all, those involved from industry to DOD to congress to the executive. I’m tired of the cost plus agreement it’s the lack of discipline and thoughtful intellectually rigor from day one.
It’s not just the cost which is out of this world we could have a base on Mars for the cost of this program. It’s what it has meant to out existing air fleet. Without a new plane and taking so long has led to our existing air frames service life getting eaten up driving cost to extend and to purchase legacy fighters…
I agree one the POS procurement get in the hands of those that will fly it they will make the most of it. That said it was a great cost of both lost opportunity and treasure that we will be feeling for years if not decades.
Spot on. So much for the 2012 IOC date.
The first annual Hooning Games NZ
Just like their birds...they don't fly
So who annexes who? Or do we just let Dunkin Donuts and Tim Horton’s fight for annex rights
That explains why the AUS Navy was there....Micheal should have led with that....
Australia has a navy. Who would have thunk it. Most be a lot of Fosters cans tied together to make it float.
Less time than that it’s not like going thru American regulations where just the permitting process takes you three years. First, these nation are starving for the opportunity and investment. The governments would flatten their out cities to allow even half the building to happen that happens in China. With the Middle…
It would be a windfall for Mexican, Singapore, Malaysia, even India.we would lift their standard of living 6x fold the first year. What happens to China when we shut off Mid East oil supplies and raw materials from Austriala.
Actually South Korea would love it more business for Samsung. And apple though using factories on the mainland primarily contracts thru Foxcomm out of Tiawan. Hell, mosre of the Telcom manufactures sold off their manufacturing to outside parties like Foxcomm much like Detroit uses part manufactures and they only do…
just as long as they don’t allow any of the existing industrial base bid on the drones. If not we will be having the same discussion in ten years about the new 133 million F35 enhance augmented fighting capability drone. Then they will bill it as buy one you know have to buy 5 so a single F35 will cost 90million and…
Yes the money we invest in our pilots. The problem is we won’t have any money left for any to be able to fly them. Hell now we need an advance clean sheet trainer to be able to train then and I’m sure you,ll see active wings still flying trainers instead of f35 because of the op cost.
I like the f35 but it’s development has been a disaster and is why they killed the f22. There is no reason we should have both the F22 & F35. But to put all our eggs in this single basket was a mistake from the get go.
Plane will be around 50 years but the first 25 will still be paying to get it to work. Given that reasoning the F22 was operational with fly away cost also coming down for each additional block. Both planes should have been kept but in a mixed fleet. I have yet to see actually savings from the great shared platform…
Same day same results for dos procurement. Wait till we see the new multi billion dollars Stryker cannon. Yours for the low low price of 3.8 million before they find “integration problems that require the Stryker to get a new hull. Hey at this rate why bother we will have the best equipment in such low numbers and no…
