Good. I like Ford (I DD a 2012 Focus) and was disappointed that they didn’t want to include Android Auto in SYNC 3; looks like they’ve finally caved, though.
Bruh.
The AWD and stickshift were never available together, IIRC - you've always had to go FWD to get the manual.
How about GM’s Vert-A-Pac railcars for the Chevy Vega?
The current Elantra and Forte have been available with ventilated seats for a while now. I think that they’re available on the Dart as well.
The grille is pretty similar to that of the Audi Prologue concept, IMO. It looks good.
I do see a bit of Hyundai/Subaru in the front since they’ve adopted similar grilles/fascias, but it still looks good IMO. I like the inclusion of paddle shifters, too.
Aside from how the exhaust is only visible from an angle like this, I really like the new Civic.
As I recall from the anime, the car stops being a handful after he cleans the engine, repairs it from wrecks and modifies it. And as ramajastang said, the Devil Z thing had been hammered into the audience early on, so it was a natural progression from there.
Great write-up, Patrick!
So it’s got a Cadillac BLS front end, eh?
So they made a commercial for the second Gundam Auris like they did for the first, eh? That’s awesome - I much prefer it to the Peace Eco Smile short-form anime that they made.
The Pontiac G8 - a good captive import that didn’t take the market by storm and was killed along with Pontiac.
I’ve been wondering whether we’ll see a Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 right out of the gate when the GL is replaced. I’m also interested in seeing how much further upmarket Cadillac can take the Escalade.
It should be heavier, given the inclusion of DI, but I don’t know what the precise weights are for those engines. The weight of other bits-and-bobs, like the wheels, could play a part as well. The 2.0T and V6 will use ligher-duty 8L45 automatic gearboxes (compared to the SS’ 8L90), so the manual gearbox is probably…
According to the press release, they shaved over 200 lbs off for a weight of 3,685 lbs for the manual SS (in base 1SS trim, I’d imagine). A 6-speed Mustang GT weighs 3,705 lbs in base trim, for comparison.
“I think working on a project like that is made a lot better by the small moments where something truly stupid happens,” the tester said. “Talking pigs randomly standing up like a person and walking away, randomly being shot out of the sky in a plane by an ambient pedestrian whose physics had fired him into space. Trev…
It’d be great to see the BRZ get the WRX’s engine (left as-is or detuned a bit), but I figure that given how long it’s been since the BRZ’s release, Subaru of America would address the desire for “more performance” by selling more units of the BRZ tS or introducing another model that uses at least some of the tS’ bits…
This bit from an earlier Jalopnik article says it all, really:
