Asians do relationships differently. For example, if you read the article, it doesn't say the guy was asking the girl to marry him. It says he was telling the girl he likes her (表白).

It's possible to make your own dual-language subtitles as well. You can download .srt files shared online, or extract them from your DVD, and put them together using an .srt editor. I forget the name of the freeware program I used to do this once, but it's a very easy process.
