It was actually a discussion If you know all of this, excellent. I don’t know when the right to the book were sold or if the sequel had been written then. It’s all good.

The danger in doing it would be using elements or characters, or being accused of doing so, to a work that the rights havent been acquired to. The best protection against the accusation would be to intentionally avoid the other works.

Is it possible that Garland didn’t read the 2nd book because the studio only had the rights to the first one? I haven’t heard of the book or series until today.

and based their decision apparently on what they thought their teammate would want them to

Im curious and serious. What is the generally accepted number worldwide to make another film feasible? It seems that worldwide numbers (read it was close to $400M) show they have made the outlay back. How much more must they make? If they double money at around $600 wouldn’t that be good enough?

This seems as good a place to post this as any. I watched the movie with 3 friends. We all really enjoyed it But when it came to Green Lantern two of us saw two distinct lanterns and the other two thought there was only one. I was sure the first one flying was humanoid and wearing a green and black uni while the alien

Almost every time I read a review or story now on io9 about Discovery it makes me think the author(s) must approach novels with a chapter by chapter rating than an overall for the book. The show is good. It has enough drama to keep me interested about what is to come and characters I care about. It looks great and has

If it isn’t vetted by dogs, I’m not buying it

Mr. Petchesky,

They run a play for him?

What does “eat lean, eat clean” mean?

No idea if spoilers are on the agenda today. Decided best way to avoid them was to avoid the video. Have a nice day

I agree about the different approach making stand alone episodes rarer and that not being a great thing. The pace of the stories today is so quick that I’m afraid the stand alones aren’t going to see an increase in appearance. I loved DS9 so serialized Star Trek can be great but I enjoyed the way X Files handled it.

Not going to read the comments because I hate spoilers but other than ego gratification, there was no reason to spoil that twist if true. Even considering ego, there’s no good reason.

“The NFL is the only league that actively puts its best, most exciting players at such serious risk in each game.”

I disagree about Star Trek losing its soul. Mudd was a spy There is always a stiff penalty for spying. Lorca, in a time of war, faces difficult decisions. Sisko did too. DS9 was a great series Discovery has been good. Lorca gave Mudd a chance to survive instead of blasting him Is the theory that Mudd should be

Couldn’t agree more. I really enjoyed the pilot episode. I liked the characters and want to see what happens. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it from the opening. I think it was a benefit that the show details were kept to a minimum prior to the premiere. I hate spoilers and enjoy learning about shows or movies

The team and the player contributes. The TV deals help fund them IIRC. Isn’t the NFL pension vested after four or five years? Even if he only made around $500K for each year, definitely go for the 10 year mark. 100K a year for life will fund a lot of time on the water

I think this is to help him pay off legal bills already incurred prior to the pardon. I hope he is sued into oblivion

I don’t disagree with you about the seriousness of the technological aspect of the story. I do disagree about the hypocrisy being superficial. It runs deep through this administration. It is a view into the essence of the man who was elected. It isn’t a pretty sight.
