They could attend a medical school abroad that doesn’t sink them into tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars of debt? They could obtain an education in a country that has better R&D funding, and lacks baseless restrictions on research?

I was pissed about that too, but the latest version of the bill had that exemption pulled. Regardless, even if they don’t have the exemption that gives them ACA protections, they still get federal insurance coverage, which they get to choose. It will be better than what the majority of people will be able to afford.
