Is it moral and ethical to seek personal excessive profit in life-saving care? Squeeze every drop you can from things people literally can not live without?

They could attend a medical school abroad that doesn’t sink them into tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars of debt? They could obtain an education in a country that has better R&D funding, and lacks baseless restrictions on research?

Do you have numbers, or is that just something you know in your gut?

I suppose we’ll never know, since all of the other developed nations with universal healthcare apparently don’t have surgeons. Because if not for money, why else would anyone go into medicine, or take on a challenging, rewarding, respected profession, right?

I almost died when Trump told the Australian PM how much better their universal healthcare system was. I’m sure he meant it as a slight against “Obamacare” - but he really just undermined himself and the GOP. Fucking idiot.

I was pissed about that too, but the latest version of the bill had that exemption pulled. Regardless, even if they don’t have the exemption that gives them ACA protections, they still get federal insurance coverage, which they get to choose. It will be better than what the majority of people will be able to afford.
