You missed the point of the process. It is more reliable and valuable to draft the future superstar then it is to buy the current one. Once your tent-pole is up, cohesion flows. Any team that brings a new guy in to be the top dog would have to deal with a shifted continuity anyway.

Does the distinction really matter much to anyone? I remember being invested in what was anime and what was a cartoon ages ago, but does it really matter? The quality animated works both from Japan and from without stand on their own merits.
