Visited a friend in LA a year ago. He lived in South Central and it was shocking how often there was an LAPD helicopter flying around in the immediate vicinity.

Not the worst incident a rapper coming out of a strip club could be involved in.

That’s what I was thinking. MAYBE $12k to the right buyer on BaT

Not mentioned in this article but previously reported by Jalopnik in 2022 (https://jalopnik.com/one-tesla-model-s-has-gone-nearly-1-million-miles-and-n-1848362945),

It’s a Tesla article on Jalopnik. That means the headline is complete BS. Or the author’s completely misunderstanding of the quotation

Same thought, I thought it was like $220k. $120k or $20k extra is pretty on par for various “First” edition EVs. It'll probably get some special badging and a low VIN number and maybe some minor styling changes.

Extra over the $500 deposit?  Clicky headline.

That 15% (the consumer car/truck industry) is the low-hanging fruit. Yes, all of it needs to come down, but electrification isn’t as ready or as close to meeting needs in the other transportation sectors. A few Tesla semis good for hauling superlight bags of mostly air and fried potatoes is not in danger of replacing

There isn’t really a singular option that can just be turned off for a 30% macro cut that wouldn’t also have immediate, catastrophic effects on day-to-day life. The practical solutions are to continue chipping away at the sectors where a single law (like vehicle emissions) can have downstream effects. I would expect

Prior to this I was in the train of thought that Hyundai had really turned things around. They were making really cool looking cars. The quality was a lot better. Maybe a cheaper alternative to Honda and Toyota.  After this? No way I would ever trust one of these because if they made millions of engines that

IMO this level of variance indicates that the EPA needs to work on their testing scenario by a lot. It’s kinda nuts that the variance goes 50 miles below the EPA numbers for the Ford Lightning, to a massive 72 miles above the EPA numbers for Mercedes EQE.

Part of that is a dealer problem (unwilling to discount, not good at marketing EVs - think Mach E and such), part of that is a product problem (only high-level trims available, no attractive entry level EVs, EVs not eligible for tax incentives, etc.), and part of this is a timing problem (new tax incentives at point

Once you get a taste of that attention you’ll do anything to keep it.

Sounds like Franchise Laws simply don’t need to exist then.

Very much in support of this.

Gross. Putting new wheels and tire and a roof rack full of overland jewelry is about as tasteless as saying you “conquered” a trail any decent stock 4x4 could do.

After a bit of fighting and back and forth we compromised and got an XA41 Rav4

They have entirely disappeared from my city. We live in a fueled-by-petrochemical-dollars, new-money, wannabe-bougie city that absolutely fell in love with H2 Hummers. They’re gone now; replaced by Range Rovers and Escalades.

Four hours? That’s generous. Most of these psychos have this shit on 24/7. My father unironically told me once he keeps on because he wants to make sure we’re, and I quote, “not under attack.”

You begin to understand why so many old people are paranoid idiots now when you realize they sit down every single evening and watch programming like this for four hours.
