I got stuck in Burlington one Sunday a few years ago thanks to the Skagit bridge construction on I-5. Got tired of crawling along at about 1 mph with all the other people who were realizing that the detour was a lie, so I parked at the Cascade Mall and walked around for a while. Even browsed at that Macy’s.

I am conflicted.

Ted Danson's character explains that there are individual neighborhoods tailored to their residents' preferences. There must be a neighborhood with sloths somewhere and I would like to apply for admission in the event of my demise.

Same here, on both counts. By all accounts, he’s a good-natured professional on set. Off-set, he’s quietly come through for several people I know.

Jeb! was George H. W. Bush’s last chance to hold on to a shred of power. George W is used up; Neil pissed off the big money people with the whole Silverado S&L thing; sister Dorothy isn’t interested; and Marvin... shh. We do not talk about Marvin.

I lived with a couple of Ashlys. Both were the daughters of well-off families and had no idea what sharing space entails. Really basic stuff, like not understanding that you don’t get to unilaterally dictate the decor of the whole space.

What a fascinating read! I can’t help but think that if she’d been born 100 years later, she’d have the same trajectory as a blogger or podcaster - you wouldn’t even need to change too many of the details.

Oh, absolutely. I was just thinking about the likelihood of someone with an (R) next to their name being elected governor in the near future, and came up with “not very likely.”

Except that was before Pete Wilson doubled down on anti-immigrant sentiment, and before the state GOP got so desperate that put all their eggs in the Governator basket.

That sounds fair.

I am so ready for the skinny trend to be over, and to take everyone who’s chirped “anyone can wear skinny jeans! You just have to find the right pair!” with it.

I work in entertainment media. Believe me, a lot of my coworkers would love to ask Parker some real questions.

Fox paid a Sundance record $17.5 million for distribution rights. Damn straight it’s a product.
