So where do you personally rank Fear Inoculum among Tool’s albums?

Most people I know in IT who love their Thinkpads greatly prefer the older models, going back even to the IBM days. The reason for that is that the added bulk made them highly servicable. You could expand or replace nearly every piece of those machines, allowing something from ten years ago to have 16 GB of memory in

Not a coffee shop specifically (although it has a coffee bar and plenty of seating), but Wegmans has the best free public Wi-fi of any shop/store/restaurant I’ve ever encountered. It’s absolutely glorious.

I strongly suspect that stuff was 80% tomato paste, with maybe a few sprinkles of Worcestershire, mushroom powder, or MSG added in. Start buying tubes of tomato paste or anchovy paste at the grocery store and add it in with a splash of Worcestershire or MSG powder, I think you’ll get the same flavor boost with much

For the traditional HTPC living room setup, I’ve never had a better experience than Kodi. And it gets better with every release.

Even as far as being a dick goes, I feel like that poor person’s in-laws are on a level beyond your neighborhood asshole. I’ve had several roommates before who had Coeliac disease, one much more severely than the other, and the gamut of reactions from the other roommates usually ranged from supportive, to apathetic,

It would be a really cool thing if it catches on, though. At one time I had both an Android smartphone and an Android 7-inch tablet, which was used mostly for reading. It was a great little device, but always having to remember to pack my tablet in my daytrip bag if I wanted to be able to read eventually lead to it

Per the developer, the vulnerability was in a 3rd-party library that VLC leveraged, not in VLC itself. So whether the app is vulnerable or not largely depends on where you got the binary from. If you got it directly from VLC’s website, you are probably fine. If you got it through your OS’s distribution (more of a

Emacs, huh? The lady just earned some mad street cred, right there.

Depends where you’re getting them from? I have no experience with the likes of Audible, so maybe someone else can chime in here. The only audiobook I ever bought was from Google Play, and that allowed me to simply export it to my desktop as an non-DRM’d (to my knowledge) M4A file. Could then use Audacity or whatever

For my own collection, sure, EPUB is always preferable (and supported by pretty much everything that’s not Amazon). But in the context of explicitly sharing to another Kindle, MOBI is your best bet, since the Kindle can’t read EPUBs.

I’ve given away books, which I can’t do on Kindle. (Sometimes I thought I was lending a book but it turns out I was giving it away forever. Still worth it.)

And good luck to you if your employer uses Zoom for its internal and client-facing meetings!

Many subscription auto-renewals should fall under the “dark patterns” category. I’ve had several services where I was gifted 1 Free Month/Year of service, either via giftcard or promotion, but in order to even sign up for the service before I could redeem the giftcard, I needed to supply a credit card number. The

One annoying thing is that many services offer TOTP-based 2FA as an alternative to SMS, but never let you completely disable SMS as a fallback, meaning it would still be vulnerable to SIM swap.

It’s 2019, and we still can’t create Arabic signs that aren’t embarrassingly wrong. Come on, guys. If you ran the phrase through Google Translate, you’d at least get letters that run right-to-left and connect to each other properly!

Not console-games, per se (until the ports decades later), but some of the Capcom arcade beat-em-ups of the time like Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadows Over Mystara have so many RPG elements that they should really be considered Action-RPGs. They are quite enjoyable, too.
