Even if it’s rarely enforced — so what! If you get called for palming in basketball, if you get called for being off the base in baseball while turning a double play (or did back when I watched 10 years ago), if you get called for whatever little enforced rule exists in professional sports, you complain for a second

And I guess you guys Snapchat each other all the time?

Everything that happened in this episode happened in front of a lot of cameras. Every single one of her actions, and every action of the umpire were out in plain view. You don’t need to be a BFF to make a judgement here.

She is a legend in the tennis world, no one

I thought the worst part was, “Say it! Say you’re sorry. SAY IT!”

I should be used to how badly this site carries water for it’s fave people, but it still irks me how biased this place is.

“You owe me an apology,” she said. “I have never cheated in my life. I have a daughter and I stand for what’s right for her. I’ve never cheated, and you owe me an apology. You will never do another one of my matches.”“And you stole a point from me,” she said. “You’re a thief.”

The only one that owes an apology to anyone is Serena, and she should be directly speaking to Osaka for ruining her well deserved moment.

The umpire was right on all three of those calls. It sounds like Williams thought the “coaching” warning was rescinded because she told the umpire she’s not a cheater, but of course that’s not how that penalty works. The call is made against the coach (who admitted he was coaching from the stands), so the player can’t

I DEMAND YOU APOLOGIZE TO ME.

It’s amazing to me that people come away with that feeling sorry for Serena. That was such an embarrassing performance. Much credit to Osaka, she’s a true champion and I hope she comes back.

Serena stans are turning into psychopaths who froth at the mouth at every slight against her. Imagine being do deranged that you have to be told not to boo Naomi Osaka of all people. Serena’s the GOAT but I’m so done with her ridiculous fans.

I’m a Serena fan and was so embarrassed for her today. Yes, it was unfortunate the ref called the coaching violation, but it’s technically the rule. Save the “it was only a thumbs up...I have a daughter! (??)” nonsense. From there on out she decided to run her match into the ground. The ref had to give her the next

She basically meant to say that the men can call the umps anything they want without getting warnings. She clearly needs to watch the ATP tour more often. Some dudes rack up fines in the tens of thousands.

Everyone in every sport ever has gotten a shit call. It is human nature. Serena is so damned arrogant and honestly very stupid. Instead of just sucking it up and doing what she does best, she threw ANOTHER fit about something that was entirely her fault.

So now she is down 0-2 in the hot headed reaction race. What

The ‘coaching’ rule is bad, and inconsistently applied (and I’ve never seen it in a Grand Slam final). That said, bad calls happen all day, every day, in every sport. After the initial bitch, a professional should move on. Serena managed to make the match (that she was already well on her way to losing) all about her.

She did not take it like a champ. Serena takes the majority of the blame for this fiasco. She’s the one who ruined Naomi’s victory with her behavior.

First warning to Serena for coaching. Her own coach admitted to Pam Shriver after the match that he had indeed tried to coach her. The gesture was meant for her to approach the net more often. He thought she hadn’t noticed it, but still, it’s the attempt that matters. Players have been using this excuse (“I didn’t

This article is terrible.

Naomi Osaka - never meet your heroes.

Serena is a bad sport. It is what it is. You need to be almost pathologically competitive to succeed at the highest levels of sport, so it’s not that surprising. However, considering her position in her sport (and her age), it might behoove her to act like Federer, not Johnny Mac.

This was so hard to watch. I hope Naomi Osaka knows she would have won this match on her own if all of this shit hadn’t happened.
