Honest to goodness +1 on this. I believe the track runs slightly downhill into Turn 1 and slightly uphill into turn 3 making turn 1 more difficult especially considering the grandstands and everything around it.

In modern cars I actually don't think Eau Rouge is that bad. As technology has advanced going through that corner alone has become less challenging. Going through that corner side by side is a different discussion.
