@Thulsa_Dooom: brown washing, from what I've seen in film, doesn't happen as much as white washing. There's also much longer history of non-white characters being played by white actors. I can probably name and find more characters than have been replaced by white actors in American films than the other way around.
@magnakaiser: Last time I checked Asians weren't restricted to one complexion. Just like any other race, it can vary depending on the person and Aang's complexion looks the same as a lot of Asian characters that are in anime/manga.

@urfe: To your first question: Yes you can. I don't think it really matters which one you start with since, from the two I've played (3 &4) you don't need to have played the previous games in order to understand or follow the story.
