Can we talk about what a steep drop-off Andy Bernard took? He was one of that show's greatest creations in his Stamford/douchebag days, still reliably funny when he was trying to redeem himself and dating Angela, and then just a rapid descent into flat out bizarre and unfunny plots and characterization, to the point…
Season 4 was still consistently funny even if there were a few missteps like Ann and Tom (which could have been better given the actors involved). Season 5 is when it moved from must-watch TV to "Eh, I'll check it out on Netflix when I'm doing laundry" for me.
It was definitely the best Tom season; the balance between his sarcastic human side and his goofy delusional side hadn't tipped too far in the latter direction.
I'm a defender of a few of the "replaced" characters on this list, and Brendanowitz is one of them. Yes, he was low energy, but I think that would have countered the show's tendency to go too high-energy towards the end (I'm not talking about Craig but I'm also not not talking about Craig). Even if the 3rd season was…
Not surprised that Frank Reynolds isn't on here after the recent "Always Sunny" For Your Consideration, but he definitely counts.
One of the few fictional characters I have ever had a literal nightmare about.
That season made me pinball back and forth between the two of them to the point where I genuinely couldn't tell you who I was rooting to have kill the other, until the end where Gus threatening Walter's family and imprisoning Jesse made me decisively team Walt… until, of course, the Lily of the Valley reveal.
…and was kind of distracting (not in a good way), IMO.
From like age 13 to whenever the next presidential race ends. It's easier if you're a suburban white dude.
The song that by its very existence should have given Jussie Smollett and Bryshere Y. Gray an Emmy nomination?
If it has nothing to do with gun violence how are they being hypocritical?
At least the later seasons had "this is so bad holy fuck what are they doing" moments every so often to grab your attention. Season 3 was just boring.
Dude, why are you upset about this? Literally the only inconvenience to you is that you are going to have to wait a week to watch a television show. Get some perspective.
"This show was the best when Adam Arkin and Henry Rollins were leading the Nazis" is a sentence that is logically sound.
He also went on a huge rant after season 3 about how critics didn't get it and his show wasn't the Wire and how he was making a big pulpy opus (despite his show not really even working as pulp). The funniest part was that he directly called out Sepinwall and made fun of his "My review of [blank], as soon as I've…
Because you are far more likely to see "SJW" used by a reactionary to belittle anyone with a progressive view than you are to see it used the way you are describing, which hasn't seen widespread use for close to a year. With that in mind, maybe cut people who embrace that term for its positive connotations a little…
Yup, there's totally not any liberal activists seeking to solve the problem of black on black violence and you definitely put in the effort to find those groups instead of just assuming they don't exist. Also the media totallly finds black activism and attempts to end inner city violence compelling and devotes an…
Yeah see it's hard to make that argument when anything left of David Duke gets called an "SJW" nowadays.
Well part of it is her post-helium-inhalation voice, too.
