The Cien is a very cool concept, but the Ciel is the one that got away.

My mom loves the stuff (or at least did when I was a kid) and would try to get me to like pimento cheese sandwiches. I absolutely hated it then and still do. I’m now over 50, have lived in southern states my whole life (except for a brief stint in Italy), and I have never met anyone who does like it. Gives me the…
I noticed the same thing. Missed the light pole at the start of the wreck, neatly between the gas pumps, and into empty spaces in the parking lot. The only collateral damage (apart from the car, driver, and passenger) seems to be that blue “4" sign and landscaping.
I was hoping to hear about her experience on the TVOTR video for Happy Idiot. Did she actually get to work with Paul Rubens? Looking at the video, it doesn’t seem like it, but who knows?
THAT’s what that was. I heard it and recognized it, but couldn’t quite place it. Damn good placement.
This looks fantastic. That shot of Trinity...I mean Carrie Ann Moss fighting with the assassin (?) looked so damn cool.
I somehow missed the first part when you stated it was about Indiana Jones. I saw the conversation was between Kasdan, Lucas, and Spielberg and, in my head, thought the conversation was about Obi Wan and Leia. It kinda made sense, until the affair part. Then it pretty much went off the rails.
You’ve provided the best Citation. An X-11 always gets a star.
It’s interesting that they chose to give the robot a slightly hoarse voice. That weirded me out just a bit. So used to hearing a distant, somewhat ethereal voice, hearing one that sounds like I could be talking to a waiter at a restaurant was odd.
A star for the deep cut. Well played.
That was my thought, too. Then I read the part about him going to get two more vaccinations while the study was going on. Seems like that would have been pressing his luck, but I guess the legal system was done worrying about him, at that point.
The good news is that he now gets excellent 5G reception.
It bears mentioning that there were 239 people on board that flight. This search is not just about finding the plane, but bringing some closure to the families of those people. I just thought I’d add that, as it wasn’t mentioned in the post.
This. 100% this. Tenant is certainly worth a watch. I saw it on a plane and was totally mind scrambled. It made much more sense on repeat viewings. But Washington just isn’t a very good actor.
Not only the type of people who believe it AND will pay for a blue check, like young Daniel up in the story.
No mention of LaLa Land from 2016? OK. But it was exactly the type of movie this post talks about. Although announced as Best Picture, then corrected, it should have won that year. This genre of picture is sorely missed.
If I think hard, the last time I saw any Neon (an SRT-4 driven by an acquaintance) had to have been in 2008 or 2009. For a car that was so ubiquitous, they’ve all but disappeared. I know there was a whole post on this the other day, but I’m just amazed that they’re all gone. Mostly.
For my money, I give J. Mike’s the crown. I think JJ’s has pretty OK sandwiches. And the less said about Subway, the better.
Oh hell yes. Robot Jox was so close to being perfect. The special effects of the day just weren’t there. Still it was extremely cool.
Rented Freejack on VHS in the 90s and I can 100% confirm that it is terrible.
