You’re only complicit if you didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton.
Her role is one female black friend
Yup. The hypocrisy is the worst. My aunt used to tell me “White people dont wanna know that they are doing something wrong, at best you can just try to direct them to something right.” She knew I was right when I would call all the White Feminism TM bullshit. But she also knew that me and my fam and other POC wouldnt…
*sigh*
I plan to be a huge bitch to anybody who expects me to support their concerns while turning a blind eye to mine. So fuck your whining... put on your big girl panties and stop asking black women to shore up your goddamn feelings.
So, on the one hand, I agree. I’m a woc, and I attended my local march despite some lingering reservations about intersectionality and inclusivity. I found it to be an overwhelmingly positive experience. I think a lot of the “woohooing” was because people were so happy to be there with so many others who felt the same…
“Everyone should support what I think is important but don’t ask me to help out anywhere else. I’m just so busy.”
Exactly. Marching to protect health coverage for CHILDREN apparently isn’t pro-life for them.
53% of white women voted for Trump.
It’s not good enough. No one should be offended by the idea that going outside for a few hours on a Saturday is the beginning of the hard work. If you look back on the years 2017-2021 and the sum total of your efforts at resistance were showing up at a festive march the day after Trump’s inauguration, are you…
This is what is so hurtful to a lot of queer and minority women, though. To many black women, it is not a womens march if it is not also a black lives matter march. To say you are pro-woman but anti-BLM is to be lying about one or the other.
maybe because white women have left people of color hanging on the vine twisting for centuries, and I don’t mean that just metaphorically.
After all your feel good sisterhood kumbayaing is over, get your asses out and vote on Nov 8th, 2018 or this was just a walk down a street.
Sure, but the first step shouldn’t always have to appeal to white people in order to get them to care. Otherwise, I would think it means you lack empathy.
Well...no. The original organizers were white, cis, able-bodied, affluent women. They diversified under pressure, and a lot of white women publicly refused to participate any longer. There have been a lot of articles written about the internal clash over race amongst organizers and participants alike.
Switching from hourly to full-time can be tough.
I wish this didn’t make me laugh.
