“you sonofabitch, I’m dead!”

This sounds ridiculous but the idea of mashing up zombie and heist movies (two solid genres) is not in itself awful

I’m still disappointed WandaVision’s “dinner with the boss” episode didn’t include Vision sneaking out to Krustyburger.

Skinner told Chalmers his address was Three-Dickety Pikeland Ave. because the Kaiser had stolen our word “thirty.

In the days before GPS was widely used, people had to rely on things like “paper maps” and “directions” to get places, even places they had visited once before. It had something to do with onions and bees, I think.

which briefly made us wonder if we were being too nitpicky.

We were like, “Take this chicken carcass and kick it down the street like you’re playing soccer.” Trevor looked at us and he was like, “Oh, my god. I’ve always wanted to do this.”

One of my favorite moments from Beat Kids was an interview at a beauty pageant, where the kid asks a woman “So how was the soup?” “What soup” she replies. “The one that came free with your haircut.

I discovered Wonder Showzen when it originally aired and couldn’t believe more people weren’t even aware of it and what they were able to get away with. Thankfully both seasons were released on dvd, which I still have, and I think a lot of people would recognize clips and pieces as now viral videos or gifs they never

Weird how mellowed down Lee and Chatman have become, compared to their older interviews, like this one: https://tv.avclub.com/vernon-chatman-and-john-lee-of-xavier-renegade-angel-1798215735

Thanks for all the time spent putting this together. Definitely worth the time to read. I haven’t seen a great deal of Wonder Showzen, but I did watch an episode last year - I think it was “Body.” There were many attempts to shock, but nothing (even the puppet agitating a man until he nearly got a beatdown) stood out

I’m on the same page with you about Aquaman. I kinda get that people like the huge budget campy thing, I just didn’t enjoy it at all. Is this a stoner thing maybe? Smoking weed is cool and should be legal, it just doesn’t work for me and I find there’s certain movies weed fans love that also doesn't work for me.

Aqauman is a bit of a stretch. It wasn’t terrible but it also sounded like it was written by a 12 year old.

You could take your own advice, that would be great.

Explain what? You know exactly what you did.  Find someone else to hold your hand.

Nah.  You’ve misrepresented what was said.  Your odds are even lower than you think they are.

It’s not that he is impervious to criticism. It’s that you, who seem to only understand race as something you can get internet points for if you say the right thing about it, are decidedly unqualified to provide criticism about the creator of The Wire’s ability to make a nuanced show about the systemic racism driven

Guess the answer to your question is no, then.

Yes, one bad tweet from 6 years ago definitely means that the guy who gave us multiple profoundly nuanced and sympathetic portraits of various Black communities and the systemic racism responsible for the problems they face, based on his own experience working within those communities, needs lessons from recognitions

This should be good.  What’s the reference here?
