The most tragic part of this story is learning that there’s a US version of The Sun.

1) You must have missed the part where I said I’m part of the LGBT community.

I’m not downplaying it, but a Governor passing/trying to pass legislation that unfairly targets a minority group (of which I’m a member, btw) is not the same thing as being a threat to democracy.

Do you all remember when the AV Club added that super cool feature where, every time you clicked on ‘Notifications,’ it would redirect you to the kinja.com homepage and require you to re-log in?

DeSantis is nowhere near as much of a threat to democracy as Trump. He’s a dick, sure, but his whole anti-LGBTQ stuff is pretty much just stock Republican asshole behavior, latching on to whatever the current moral panic is. Trump is a literal fascist; he’s narcissistic, authoritarian and completely ruled by ego. He

That’s all definitely true as a matter of practicality, but the morality of it doesn’t cancel out. Harry and Meghan being annoying attention-seekers doesn’t make the paparazzi more right for doing what they do.

Meghan and Harry could film a sex tape, personally upload it to PornHub, advertise it at the Superbowl and then do a full press tour blaming everyone for watching it, and I’d still side with them over the fucking paparazzi.

Enough people have called out the rope-swing, and rightfully so. But I feel as though that ‘driving up a collapsing rope bridge’ part might actually be even dumber.

I assume he’s stepping down so he can spend more time tweeting: ‘Hmm,’ and ‘Interesting,’ and ‘🤔’ in response to conspiracy theories and right-wing disinformation.

I don’t like Ed Sheeran’s music, but honestly... I respect the hell out of him, especially after the Thinking Out Loud case. Saw a clip of the Stern interview from where the header image comes from. Dude took the case to court and fought it for 8 years, had to miss his grandma’s funeral, he took a stand against the

I noticed that but there’s another point where she says ‘anyone can use my voice without penalty.’ So, I think she’s saying she’ll ask for 50% royalties, but won’t demand them.

Copyright sucks... Art is a conversation with everyone that’s come before us. Intertwining it with the ego is a modern concept. The music industry has been defined by lawyers, and that strangles creativity.

I’m not an expert, but based on a quick listen: If there was a claim there, it seems like it could already have been made based on the vocal melody, which is certainly similar to Sweet Child O’ Mine. But the backings are different, I think, and the beat is way too generic to count as evidence one way or the other.

Ed Sheeran would probably be the first to acknowledge his influences just like any reasonable person.

Creative freedoms aside, it’s worth noting that much of Sheeran’s inspiration comes from pioneering Black creatives[...] young white artists seemingly cribbing from creative strides made by Black predecessors.
