Not really. During the latest Speaker of the House election Lauren Boebert demanded a price for her vote and sat quietly until her price was met. No histrionics. Just a firm demand followed by implacable silence. The exact opposite of the Squad.
What’s sad is these histrionics are all the Squad has left to differentiate themselves from the soppy mass of milquetoasts in the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Jimmy Dore and Glenn Greenwald have long since dispelled any illusions about the Squad.
Awesome. I mean, sure, AOC no longer has much to say about Medicare For All, stopping deportations, Green New Deal, minimum wage, or any of the other progressive policies she championed as a candidate in 2018, but when there’s an opportunity to deliver an angry accusation of racism against Republicans, she is there…
It’s not dirty though. It’s politics. Far too many progressives have this fucked up notion that using power is icky. It drives me nuts. It’s the main reason I don’t identify as progressive anymore.
That centrist revolt against Pelosi was laughable, and that was clear at the time. These “rebels” were Democratic politicians from swing districts who had campaigned on opposing another Pelosi speakership, so they were obliged to make a display of opposition in order to avoid being exposed as liars. So they put on a…
I am so done with progressive Democrats. They are losers who give their votes away for free. They see a faction of populist Republicans demanding a price for their votes and it doesn’t even occur to them that they could be doing the same thing.
I have to say I’m enjoying the educational displays of the progressive loser ethos today.
I don’t watch youTube politainment. I do recall lots of liberal bloggers back in the day declaring that Rachel Maddow or John Stewart etc. had eviscerated somebody. People were getting eviscerated every day. The streets ran red with blood.
if you go to a right-wing website, you will find the same headlines
“Eviscerated Rubio in their debate”
At the risk of being banned, I’m going to take the side of border states in this kerfluffle. Frankly, it’s amazing nobody tried this sort of stunt sooner.
I might get banned for saying this, but Mitt could’ve spiked the football a thousand times after it turned out he had been right in 2012 about Vladimir Putin being America’s #1 geopolitical threat. President Obama insisted it was Al Qaeda, and he was a sarcastic jerk about it.
What good is it for us Democrats to have a “law and order” ticket if we’re going to stand silently while Republican politicians flatter the police and look more cop-friendly than us? Why aren’t we doing that? Even voters who hate law and order must be confounded by our lack of faith in our own strategic judgment.

There’s a wonderful free program called Windows Notepad that allows you to type out your thoughts and save them in a text file for future reference. Windows Notepad isn’t connected to any social media, so nobody will see what you write in it. If you decide later to share the text you typed, you can copy and paste it…
Is TomatoFace writing this guy’s tweets? The Tomato vibe on some of them is overwhelming. I know Tomato wanted to start a right-leaning vertical on Kinja. Maybe this Miller guy hired him.
Might’ve been advisable to skim KW Miller’s Twitter account before inserting him into the article. The “two cans of beans for breakfast” quote triggered my troll detector, so I investigated. The guy’s twitter is a performance art piece, chock full of self-aware parody. Mr Miller(if that is his real name) is clearly a…
Ivanka is so long-winded. She could have just said learn to code.
