My dad, a black man, was shocked when I said Tobey Maguire, Brendan Fraser, and Matt Damon were an indistinguishable lineup of blandness. I think there were a couple others whose names I haven’t been forced to repeatedly hear over the years.

I think it’s interesting that you note that Kim isn’t the biological mother, after noting that the surrogate is gestational, not genetic. In other words, isn’t Kim still the biological mother, if her eggs are being used? At best, the child has two mothers, but to deny Kim biological motherhood (if her eggs were used)…
