I must say I’m LOVING this show.

Shocking that his opinions are as insufferable as his aesthetic

> so please forgive me if I don’t feel a single bit of pity for this dude even if he’s innocent.

I see a lot of people in the comments agreeing that the show is transmisogynistic and comments saying trans women feel this way so I don’t want to question too much, but having watched the first few seasons I never got the impression that the joke was Fred armison in a dress. I always thought the joke was about the

Yes. I think the show is very funny. Especially Toni and Candace.

I’ve seen the show, read the blog post. I disagree that anything in the show is transmysoginistic. I guess I was hoping for some examples that would illuminate stuff that people found problematic.

Honestly, I think it’s insane in this case. If anything, the show is emphatically gender neutral: Fred in a dress isn’t the joke, nor is Carrie in men’s clothing; when they need two women for the skit, they both dress as women; when they need two men, both dress as men.

What about this show is transmysoginistic?

I never believed Armisin was portraying a transgender woman in that sketch, just playing a woman. Both leads of the show play opposite genders in different characters. Did others have a different take on this?

I kind of always felt that Carrie being who Carrie is in real life was in some ways making fun of herself with this sketch. As a somewhat overly sincere feminist, I found this sketch in particular as funny as fuck. You could only hit some of these touchstones if you **really know** feminism in a way that only people

It’s based on an actual Korean tune, if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

This monarchic turn we’ve taken is not my idea of America.

But he was claiming the DNC, a privately run non-governmental entity, was rigged. Not the FEC.

As I recall, that African Aids money was tied to the idea that those funds could not be used on buying or promoting condom use, because Jesus. Which kinds of begs the question, “What the fuck are you doing with that money?”

His campaign started rumors that John McCain fathered an illegitimate black child in order to discredit him and he was the president while Katrina drowned.

Yup gettting hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed, and millions displaced, and the entire Middle East destabalized for generations, leading to countless deaths more, is totally negated by his supporting a museum.

I find it more telling in the sense that while a lot of normal people think the Obamas are like them, they’re actually members of a powerful elite that treats political differences that affect the lives of billions of people as essentially a kayfabe thing.

Time does not diminish Iraq and the 08 crash for me. The Middle East is still plummeting from our decision to invade.

Siding with Lau and BryanBoy on this one. Their comments are elitist and hypocritical. They’re just mad because print magazines aren’t what they were and they’re too set in their ways to revamp their business model.
