Tomb Raider may have had a following already, but while about 1.5-5 million people bought any given Tomb Raider game that came out before the first movie, about 48 million people saw that movie. So she clearly brought in many, many more people than just the general fanbase.

Agreed. I haven’t even bothered trying the second season. To me it comes in ahead of even Broadchurch and Top of the Lake as something that should have been allowed to just be a one-shot miniseries. The way they shove in Mendelsohn’s son at the last second to justify another season is painful.
I was rewatching Deep Impact recently, and was surprised by there being on-site daycare at the MSNBC offices in the movie. It made me wonder if that was more common in the 90s or was something people expected to become widespread. Seems like it maybe was.
