I will say that when the show started the two white dudes were the leads but as those stories got stale they started pushing major storylines to the rest of the cast. And so over time it became much more ensemble-style.

I agree completely. It’s hard. Terribly hard...but if your body can’t keep you alive due to a terminal non curable or treatable disease, then you should not be alive.
