Ha! My mom briefly tried to make ‘mammy’ happen with my niece and nephew, she had no idea that that word has an unfortunate history, I think she just thought it was a folksy word for a folksy grandmother. It’s always been ‘mamaw’ and ‘papaw’ in my fam.
