I love video games. I love the Olympics. Never the twain should meet. I dont even like the Olympic events where it comes down to judge scoring, as there’s too much scope for bias/corruption as with the farcical boxing at Rio 2016. 

Video games have no place in the Olympics. The competitors are indeed highly skilled in their fields. They deserve their place in the spotlights. But they are not Olympic events.

At some point people will need accept that video games don’t need to be considered sports. They can be their own thing.

Hard pass on Video Games as Olympic sports. Seems real sketchy to make a copyrighted proprietary game an Olympic sport. Nobody owns any other Olympics sport. Nobody owns basketball, or archery, or track, or soccer. But someone sure as hell owns Street Fighter.
