Republicans: The invisible hand of the free market is never wrong!
I’m a little leery of Witcher oversaturation at this point. I liked the first season of the show and am a big fan of the games second and third games and some of the books (mostly the short stories), but a prequel series and a standalone spinoff seems a bit excessive after one successful season.
Thanks for the thoughtful response, very productive.
Man, when I play my backlog it more often than not results in me playing for 30-60 minutes and then shoving it into my “this is probably fine but it didn’t grab me and I’d rather do something else” pile, which is twice as large as my backlog at this point.
I understand your skepticism, to an extent, but the depth of your cynicism is frankly gross.
And if consoles were $400 and games were $60, people struggling to afford basic necessities would... be in exactly the same situation. So yeah, I stand by my point that it’s ridiculous to use foreclosures and evictions to argue against raising AAA game prices. American society has a fuckton of work to do to reduce…
Unskilled gamer’s guide to translating video game reviewer’s difficulty comments:
100%, but the joke was right there, I couldn’t resist. Like our leaders can resist putting those ridiculously bloated military budgets to use, even when it leads to predictable catastrophe.
If you weren’t such a dick about it I’d be willing to have a conversation. I don’t really know what foreclosures and evictions have to do with video game prices, but with your attitude I’m not particularly interested in finding out. I’ll go set some traps for that clue and see what I catch.
First of all, most of the comments here are against raising the prices, so I don’t know where you’re getting that support for raising prices is a majority position. I haven’t seen that, ever. And this has been a topic for quite some time.
As a writer in a Bay Area industry that offers only slightly more artistic satisfaction than digging graves, I mostly agree with this, while at the same time respecting these writers a lot more than I respect myself sometimes for “selling out.” I hope they’re able to push these greedy clowns to get what they deserve…
Yeah, even the 8 cents per word they’re asking is still a pittance in SF or the larger Bay Area. Wonder what the C-suite folks are making at Voltage...
It took me shamefully long while reading this to realize that this was an active showrunner and not accusations about a showrunner from the late 70s-80s.
Fair enough, your comment was a little garbled IMO but I misread the end as you advocating those things, not describing them. Apologies.
Especially when there are so damn many ways these days to game on the cheap. Some of the most popular games in the world are free to play. Create an Epic account and start getting a free game a week. Many other launchers/platforms offer game giveaways on occasion. Subscribe to the Reddit about game sales. Shop during…
Since everyone else justifiably called you out for your other stupid, why is the amount of money that athletes, who dedicate their young lives to maximizing their abilities, INSANE? A few mostly old, almost unanimously white dudes have enough money to OWN entire teams filled with these millionaire salaries, enough…
The US Army and taking Ls in hostile territory where they aren’t wanted: iconic duo.
What the fuck did John Kerry ever do to you? Serve the country and then take a moral stance to disown his medal and support Vietnam protesters? Get Swiftboated? What about RBG? Protecting progressive Supreme Court gains earns a spot on the shitlist now?
Well, these comments have sure given me a lot of insight into how differently I view games coverage than many others here. I would absolutely love to see less focus on hype and more focus on things that are real, but I guess that’s a minority position here. There are dozens of us, Stephen! Dozens!
