I travel a lot and was in Paris and Reykjavik last year (my, I think, 5th and 6th trips to Europe?). Not trying to brag but I like travel and food and books. So I live in a tiny condo and get the passport with extended pages :) Anyway, here’s the thing: people in Europe, yep, even Paris, dress like people everywhere.

Gotcha. That definitely makes it harder. Maybe a grocery store delivery? There’s nothing wrong with a gift card but it just feels impersonal to me. Totally up to you, though, and it depends on your relationship with her.

A gift card feels weird to me. Do you live nearby? I’d bring by some easy, premade food she doesn’t have to put too much effort into. Flowers are always nice and going to the funeral (if you can) is such a nice gesture. Take her out for lunch in a month or two- people tend to move on and forget to ask how you’re doing

The Washington Post reported that he was in the US Army Air Force, not the Air Force. The Army Air Force was the predecessor to the modern Air Force, which I never knew.

I got a refurbished iPad Air from Apple and am super happy with it. The price was great and I’ve had zero problems with it in the 2ish years that I’ve had it.

Buying a $3,000 TempurPedic mattress with my husband. We squirreled away tax return money and finally got it last year and it’s everything! Sometimes, we just lay on top of the comforter and talk about how wonderful it is. Ironically, I’d bought houses and cars before that but, nope, the mattress is my “yep I’m a

Tatcha’s rice scrub is awesome!

Interesting! My diocese made no mention of special permission. They just wanted to know he was a baptized Christian (but didn’t ask for proof) and that we would raise our children as Catholics if we have any (yep) and that he wouldn’t hinder my religious practice (haha nope despite his mild horror that I “pray to a

That’s really weird. My priest told us that as long as my husband was a baptized Christian (he is), that’s all that mattered. There was no mention of my bishop weighing in. Who knows. Dioceses should be the same but I’m sure there are quite a few discrepancies.

Well, yeah, a mass would’ve occurred in church. I’m just clarifying that Catholics are not required to get married in a church. My husband isn’t Catholic so I didn’t particularly care.

Nah. I’m Catholic and my husband’s Pentecostal pastor married us at the hotel where we had our reception. Later, we had our marriage blessed by my priest. Nbd.

I was really lucky to get into a bad ass Girl Scout troop (same leaders throughout Cadettes and Seniors) and am so grateful for the experience. Girl Scouts was definitely a defining moment for me and I’m always bummed to hear about girls who didn’t enjoy it. We went low impact camping dozens of times, toured the local

That’s a bit misleading, though, because it doesn’t appear account for post-academy training and, for my agency, at least initial in house training. I’m a cop in Virginia and we have a 26 week academy + 14 weeks of field training + ~4 weeks of in house training. We work a 42 hour week, so that means it takes officers

You’re going to the wrong hairstylist if they’re “examining your body”...

So...pants?

I’d sit on his lap...

My dad’s high school was like that. Class was optional and there were no tests or grades. Students decided what grade they felt they earned and that’s what went on their transcript. It’s was the 70's. Everything was weird.

My favorite wedding picture is of my sister (my maid of honor) and me rolling our eyes at each other while my husband’s pastor yammered on about women submitting. Ha.

Wellllll...you’ve got your cousins, then you’ve got your first cousins, then you’ve got your second cousins...

I don’t know if she’s ever had an abortion but she didn’t this time. It’s a hell of a story. My in laws (and my husband) are Pentecostal though he’s rather more moderate than they are. I see them for holidays and they seem like a fairly nice lot but I tend to wander off when the discussion turns political. Anyway, so
