I liked “A Mighty Girl” on Facebook. It's awesome!

Our translator at work was a Korean woman who grew up in Argentina. It blew people’s minds when she’d show up for translation. It was hilarious every time.

Cop here. Yeah, you only *have* to go to court as a witness if you’ve been subpoenaed. At least where I am, it’s super easy and free to subpoena people, especially if you know where they live and/or work so it would just be a few minutes effort on her part. I tell people I’m happy to go to court but they just need to

We didn't have money for sleep away camp when I was a kid but, even if we did, I can't imagine my parents would send us off for 7 weeks. Holy moly! I was a neurotic little kid and probably would've lost my mind after the first week. Do little kids want to go for that long? I just assumed camp was like a week or two.

A girlfriend of mine once wrote a 10 page paper on the need for hand washing for her BSN. It was mind numbingly boring but showed she could synthesize data and reach a logical conclusion. And wash her hands really well, I guess...

I can get on board with that :)

We’re definitely well matched but not super easy going. I think you just have to pick somebody you want to hang out with. If a relationship with a friend was super hard, you’d end it. Why hold a romantic relationship to a different standard? Who knows. People are weird.

Marriage is not hard. Marrying strangers on tv is probably hard but marriage itself is pretty easy. Idk. I’ve been married 6 years (lived together a few years before that so the wedding part didn't really change anything) and it’s awesome. I’ve got a buddy to hang out with, pay half the bills I used to, and yay!

Eh, that’s a pretty tired cliche, don’t you think? I, a woman, certainly didn’t start planning a wedding when I was 5 and didn’t care all that much about it in general. My mom planned most of it because she seemed to care about the details. I just wanted to show up and have dinner and dance. Most of my female friends

First dance was “She and I” by Alabama! The rest of the wedding was fine. That was the best part. Oh and we got a bunch of cakes and pies instead of wedding cake which was awesome.

My Girl Scout leaders taught us to hold our keys between our fingers. 20 years later, I still do it :) Good for your mom!

I lived in an apartment complex where everybody got kicked out so they could sell them as condos and make tons of money. Didn't work. They went back to apartments within a year. Ha. HA!

Yowza. That could be. My husband just filled out some forms and waited forever and that was it. No canon lawyer required.

My husband had his first marriage annulled through the church (I'm Catholic). It was a suggested donation of $200.

Yeah, it's not possible to ignore this rule. My husband got his first marriage annulled so that we could have our marriage blessed in the Catholic Church. No Catholic clergy person could (or would) marry us without him having an annulment.

Nah, the spouse just has to be a baptized Christian. And the amount of premarital counseling must vary by diocese- we met with my priest a couple times and did a weekend thing. My Pentecostal husband very graciously went along with all of it :)

Ha. My mom was horrified that I didn't have a theme for my wedding. Um, the theme is two people getting married?

Eh I think it’s reasonable to say, “hey, I’d like to get married. If you don’t, we should break up so I can find someone whose goals/values/whatnot align with mine”. On my first date with my husband, I asked if he wanted kids and if he wanted to get married again (I knew him vaguely from work so knew he was divorced)

Actually, I believe it happened on July 27, a week ago.

Gotcha. I like hiring people with random degrees. I think it brings a diversity of experience that we can really benefit from but not everyone thinks that way. I'll cross my fingers for you :)
