Not really defending the Missourians who voted for Cruz, because he’s an awful piece of shit too. My point, I guess, is that I don’t see “Cardinals fans” aligning strongly with “rabid defenders of Donald Trump.”

As unfunny and not clever as this dig at Cardinals fans is, it’s worth pointing out that Missouri Republicans didn’t really vote for Trump. He only won the primary by the decision of the RNC because he was in a virtual tie with Ted Cruz.
Yep, I gathered that. Good for you, I guess. I mean, I enjoy seeing the Dodgers lose, but that’s because every time they do, they and their fans whine that it’s not their fault/call for the manager’s head. Several team members also tend to act out in very unsportsmanlike ways. They were insufferable in the 2013…
I’m not even angry. It was just tiresome because I genuinely enjoy this site, but the obsession with hating on the Cardinals (over some very overblown stereotype about the team and its fans) and the articles that said hatred generates meant that there are a lot of articles I just couldn’t enjoy.
I’d be more pissed off by the Cardinals being shut out of the playoffs, but frankly they wouldn’t have been if on just two out of 76 occasions they hadn’t played like absolute shit. And there were plenty of times this season where “not playing like shit” was their only requirement to win.
I mean, ultimately it doesn’t matter. The Cardinals are going to drop at least two out of three against the Pirates and be kept out of the playoffs (by their own ineptitude) for the first time in at least half a decade.
Because even though you didn’t know him, the world around you dimmed a little bit when you heard he died.
Isn’t this an about face from Sherman’s previous comments about this issue? If so, what a way to do it. Bravo.
The Cardinals seem to specialize in taking players who aren’t great and making them playoff/World Series heroes. David Freeze and Allen Craig come to mind. (They were great for a season or two, but then burned out quickly).
Came here for a Mr. Fish reference.
To clarify my earlier statement because of a response I received in the grays, sexual assault is a permanent shit list assignment too. Right now I’m commenting on the fact that poor doggo was hurt by this shitstain on the human race, and my blood boils because so far Captain Shitstain is not facing any consequences.
Oh fuck the hell no. Unacceptable. Not any more unacceptable than the sexual assault and other shit that’s gone on, but beating a dog gets you a permanent spot on my shit list.
The very first thing I thought when I saw this headline was “Wait a minute, doesn’t this incident make the WYTS entry about his team incredibly precient?”
That was a good dodge. The ball was headed right for his cheek, but he pulled back enough that it just clipped his nose.
As I recall, it didn’t take the third time through the order for Matt Carpenter to get to him in game 6 of the NLCS.
There won’t be an article about it, but today Wainwright threw a three hit shutout of a complete game. He struck out Stanton twice. Just wanted to mention it so that it was recorded somewhere on Deadspin.
Exactly my point. The whole reason city officials fought so hard to get the funding vote law invalidated was because they knew that there was no way in hell it would ever pass. Unfortunately they failed in the attempt to fuck over STL only because Kroenke’s demand for a new stadium was only a formality so he had an…
This sounds exactly like the bullet we just dodged here in STL when Kroenke took the Rams and fucked off to Los Angeles.
The difference here is that Wainwright actually is normally good, and he was giving credit to the Royals’ hitters for being on point and capitalizing on his mistakes.
You do realize that the Cardinals would have to do a lot worse than they’re currently doing to end up with a 90 loss season, right?
