It is seriously disgusting to see all the people who were calling for the heads of everyone in that fraternity, the dean of students, etc, now trying to slink away from responsibility for their words with “nobody specific was harmed here!”

Wow. People like you are digusting. “I lie to people...for their own good!”

SHE IS NOT A VICTIM. Seriously - how many times does she have to be called out as clearly lying before people here will put down her banner?

The point is - how do you know that? Because Sabrina Erdely told you? Nobody except Sabrina has talked to Jackie. For all we know the story could be a massive embellishment on the actual interview. It’s not like Erdely has a whole lot of credibility left here - this wouldn’t be a huge shock.

Part of the horrifying thing about all this is just how insane the story was. Pretending that, at one of the top colleges in the country, there is a fraternity which has gang rape as one of its initiating rituals? And that nobody has figured this out, or has a problem with this, except Sabrina Rubin Erdely? That is

Yeah, all she did was accuse everyone in a particular fraternity of gang rape, as this was supposedly a thing that all initiates did. No harm, no foul, huh?

She is very dangerous - her manipulation techniques led to lots of pain for lots of people. Putting her name out there may stop her from ruining some other person’s life.

Not to mention when you’re having sex with someone who’s blackout drunk, there is a solid chance you’re blackout drunk too. Is that double rape?

“Believe” doesn’t mean “take it seriously”. If that’s what you mean, then say it.

In my experience the only people who pose questions that are accused of being a rape apologist are those people who deliberately ask the questions aimed at preventing other and future victims of assault from coming forward.

You clearly weren’t reading Jezebel when this was unfolding. Anyone who attempted to question any part of the Rolling Stone story was bullied into submission and told they should believe the “victim” or else they are furthering rape culture.

You’re going to take this stand...for Ted Cruz? Seriously?

This is the first time I have ever heard someone refer to pretzels as “a great thing”.

Also, last time I checked, CJ Fiedorowicz was a looong way from being “nationally famous.”

Head trauma is simply part of the game. It’s like saying a boxer got punched in the head and thus needs to sit the rest of the fight out. You need to accept that NFL players have chosen to play this game even though they are aware of the injury risks. Even with all the CTE data, most people in this country would

Here’s an interesting thought - maybe these players are grown adults and are able to make decisions about their own bodies? And that they have made the calculated decision that they’ll take the risk of chronic injury in exchange for tens of millions dollars and national fame?

Rob Gronkowski, a talented “Who Farted?” tank top drafted in the second round

Did Gronk’s touchdown involve a head injury? I have learned from Deadspin that the only thing interesting about the world’s most successful sports league is head injuries.
