I never noticed til this episode, but he has really beautiful eyes.
Now I feel like I need to re-watch Mrs. Doubtfire. I never thought I would say that.
Yeah I agree. And I liked that neither of them came off looking bad out of the situation as well and that Ilana could (finally, belatedly) see Lincoln's point of view. Like, it was played for laughs, but this has been a point of conflict from the very first scene of the very first episode: "This is purely physical."…
I wasn't keeping score before, but now I feel like I should be! Kudos to you.
"I ran into… my florist".
Loved the return of Abbi's favourite blue dress. It really is a winner.
For Ray's sake, I hope not. I can see the similarities though.
I've enjoyed how in all her arguments with Fran this season, there has rarely been one side that is clearly 'right' or 'wrong'. A lot of the time, our sympathies might be with the morals/actions/values of one side- e.g. we can clearly see that Hannah's behaviour to the Headmaster was extremely inappropriate. But then…
Ray's the only one who tries to put the performance into a context beyond himself:
It gets sweaty in der clerb. Practicality is everyone's best feature!
It's just the clothes they were already wearing! Abbi twisted her top up and Ilana ditched the shirt she was wearing under her overalls.
Also enjoyed Abbi and Ilana's A+ improvised club-wear. Amazing.
"Watch the sunrise and get a romantic breakfast at the diner-"
"-Not the bad diner though."
"I hate the bad diner."
"It is close to everything though, should we just go there anyway?"
"…Yeah"
"Ok."
I could be imagining it, but I thought Abbi seemed a bit more annoyed by Ilana's antics than usual in this episode. I like the fact that they've held off on there being any kind of fight between the two, but it's a path they will surely explore at some point, and I'm interested to see where they'd go with it.
Also the fact that someone stole the wheelchair!
It can be two things!
Exactly, he's not a total stranger, he's her very good friend and quite gently informs her in a private moment. And he tells her not just because it can be seen as offensive but also (perhaps even mainly) because he knows that Ilana cares about this stuff.
Attention to detail!
Sure the character can wear them ironically, and it's definitely in-character because of Ilana's known tendency to be "so anti-racist that you're actually really racist", in Abbi's words. But people might not interpret her wearing them as ironic, and if so they have a right to call her out on it. The show is clearly…
