I agree the Vox Populi storyline should've been fleshed out more. I loved that game, but they could've made it into something much more interesting delving into the racial tension of Columbia, a little more.

For sports games, I definitely use my own music because the music they provide is god awful. Otherwise, I go with what the game provides. This is usually key in games like Dark Souls, so you can here when things sneak up on you.
