Definitely anecdotal on my part. I see a ton of PHEVs parked on the street during my evening walks with my dog. Like regular EVs, PHEVs make a ton of sense if you can park it in the garage and let it charge overnight. Otherwise, a regular hybrid is not only cheaper, but doesn’t leave any features unused.

Well, the EN is a more exciting vehicle to drive. My old Veloster N averaged about 24-26 MPGs and I thought that was decent. I also drove it like an asshat.

I haven’t seen any actual data on whether people plug in their PHEVs, so this is speculation. Now, automakers seem to be adverse to releasing any data on this that I assume they have, so it’s probably not bad speculation. If most were plugged in you think they’d be touting that fact all the time.
