Seeing how it’s CEO appreciation week, someone needs to show Elon some love.

I was gonna ask, “where are the Altimas on this list?” But then I realized that there are an immeasurable amount of Altimas that have been so damaged that their occupants should have died, but are still on the roads. Endangering everyone they come across. Like cockroaches surviving a nuclear winter.

These are deaths/mile. Altima’s don’t die, they only terrorize.

No Nissan Altima? I haven’t seen one in months that isn’t dented up, duct-tape maintained panels or just general bumper car looking POS.

That is a perfectly fair distinction, and I do hope a rotary range extender would prove itself more reliable. I don’t know how the MX-30 fared on reliability because it was a product I wasn’t interested in and we only got a handful of them in the U.S. anyway. If this car does enter the pipeline, I will likely be an

To be fair, an ICE generator is under much less stress than an ICE directly powering the drive wheels. But you are right about Mazda dealers needing training. I see the new RX sportscar being a flagship $50-70k car to start, and similar to how the R35 GTR was handled, only certain dealers(probably high sellers) will

Two rotors is admittedly better than one, but even a single rotor is one more than most Mazda techs and service departments in the U.S. can handle. And it’s not their fault - the training and knowledge base just isn’t there, or was never provided in the first place compared to Mazda’s home operations in Japan. To make

Shoot, Mazda gave us a RWD based inline 6 engine which they didn’t have to do, considering that the rest of the industry is downsizing cylinder count. I’m inclined to believe that this hybrid rotary sportscar will be a reality in the distant future. If it happens, I hope it weighs no more than 3500 lbs. For reference,

I’m not denying that EV’s are the future or that the tech is improving. But god damn it, it really isn’t feasible to look for charging stations in many suburbs (including mine which is riddled with Teslas), particularly if you’re a busy person. You have to be incredibly out of touch to think otherwise. The single

Larry is an awesome dude.

Definitely anecdotal on my part. I see a ton of PHEVs parked on the street during my evening walks with my dog. Like regular EVs, PHEVs make a ton of sense if you can park it in the garage and let it charge overnight. Otherwise, a regular hybrid is not only cheaper, but doesn’t leave any features unused.

Well, the EN is a more exciting vehicle to drive. My old Veloster N averaged about 24-26 MPGs and I thought that was decent. I also drove it like an asshat.

I haven’t seen any actual data on whether people plug in their PHEVs, so this is speculation. Now, automakers seem to be adverse to releasing any data on this that I assume they have, so it’s probably not bad speculation. If most were plugged in you think they’d be touting that fact all the time.

So jealous. My Elantra N is lucky to average 25 on a tank.

EV tech isn’t remotely where it needs to be right now. As it stands, the greenest option for someone who can charge at home is a PHEV. Someone who can’t do that can’t live with an EV regardless. Plus, the emissions and difficulty behind EV battery production means we will need to damage the environment heavily in the

I feel so vindicated, since I was always banging the hybrid/EREV drum since all the announcements of EV pivots. I’m not here to argue what is the most logical choice, or that EVs are actually fine for xx% of people, or whatever. I based it off what I thought consumers would actually be comfortable with, because the

Really happy to see the increase in Hybrid adoption, and would love to see more hybrid options on the market until EV tech & infrastructure gets to where it needs to be. That should have been the strategy all along, instead of going head first into premature EV technology. Private transportation emission could be cut

I was in our 800hp v8 hybrid test vehicle. Placed that girl in race mode and she was zoomin! instant torque instant stopping power, the thing drove like an EV but with the fire breathing sounds and viciousness of the engine, and the engine was just loving it. cruising on the hwy it’s just putting along at around
