There are many things worse than dying. My fear when riding is that I take a slight fall without a helmet, knock noggin on a curb, and my wife gets to shove my invalid ass around the rest of my days. I'd encourage her to let the wheelchair go at the top of a ramp into traffic, but for some reason she seems to love me.

I willingly pay my fair share of taxes and have no say in where it goes to. I pay it, the government leaves me alone, they do whatever they want with it.

Meh, if my dipshit brother bought it while doing something stupid, I would make sure that “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes” was chiseled into his tombstone.

I remember back in the 90s people were saying there was a 1% chance the neck strap on your helmet would kill you where you otherwise wouldn’t die in a motorcycle accident.  Yeah, those are great odds to live your life by.  I’ve been saved by helmets twice in my life, so if I ride, I wear a helmet (although I just

What’s your point exactly? I stand by that statement. There’s truth to it, and those professions are necessary for society to continue to function. It also doesn’t mean I want people to die. A lot of non-helmet wearing riders just happen to die when they get in to accidents. Not wearing a helmet is a decision they

No I’m not passionate about seeing people die. I’m just a pragmatic person. People make decisions. People live and die by those decisions.

Helmet laws were repealed in Missouri recently, which is where I live. It doesn’t bother me. Helmet laws never, ever bothered me since I’m ATTGAT since I started riding 15 years ago. There has never been an instance of me riding when I did not put any gear on. I’m in favor of helmet laws. So nice try attempting and

Most riders that don’t wear helmets are old and used up.  Nobody wants their organs.

And how is that mine or anyone else’s problem? Non-helmet wearer who died made the decision to throw away their life and prematurely cut ties with the people that cared about them. They may or may not be mourned. Life goes on for those surviving. Maybe the survivors will learn a lesson in fucking around and finding

Counterpoint:  where are all the donated organs going to come from if everyone is forced to wear a helmet?

If the head being protected doesn’t want to be protected by a helmet, I say let them earn their Darwin Award.

If people want to assume the high risk of self-elimination by not wearing helmets while riding, let them. There are paid professionals whose job is to clean meat crayons. Life and society goes on.

There are virtually no cars made by Chinese companies sold in the US, fabricated in Mexico or otherwise. It may actually be zero now that Fisker is dead. Meanwhile, every American carmaker sells vehicles that are at least partially assembled in China, and more than a few in Mexico. In his quest to exploit xenophobia,

Point 1 is challenging to prove.

My immediate thought when looking at a picture with trump supporters is 1) They are paid to be there. 2) They are completely and utterly STUPID.

AE86. Not a terrible car per se. Just below average at best when compared to other cars of its era. But Initial D had me convinced that it was the best JDM car in the world and can beat cars that are objectively and subjectively better than it on a mountain pass. Plot armor is one helluva drug.

there doesn’t need to be video evidence of you using your phone for law enforcement to figure out if distracted driving was at play in the lead up to a crash like this

I hope his insurance doesn’t cover this.

There’s a big difference between taking the engine up to the rev limiter, and actual over-revving which can only really be caused by downshifting.
